I used some super fancy logic to build an 8-bit adder that operates in 5 ticks without using any pistons. The general logic is based on carry-lookahead principles, but I've modified developed a number of techniques to bring it to such a fast speed - I'm calling these techniques Proper-Lookahead Logic.
