We (2 minecrafters who wish to go by the names reiuyi and gideon) constructed an 8-sided pyramid. During the build, I realized I made a mistake in the slope of the 4 additional corners, so it turned out to be an imperfect pyramid. We still believe it has some artistic value. The pyramid does not reach sky limit (short of a couple of blocks) and stands on the surface of a desert biome.
The schematics include only the pyramid and a slice of sand. Integration is easy and requires only the removal of a couple of blocks; or you can place the pyramid a couple of blocks underground and you will not have to fix anything. The original construct was made inside a desert biome. The progress bar sits at 80% because it's a random percentage under 100%. The pyramid is completely hollow and can be used in various projects. Sinking them into the sand, you can create groups of pyramids of different sizes to recreate a slice of Egypt.
Go and make something big out of it!

Additional Notes
MCEdit was not used in the creation of this pyramid. One other player not mentioned in the above post made a small contribution to this build.More like this
