(Yes i did not build the map but I know how the storage works) if there were 41 buttons in each hopper than the hoppers would accept every item the way this chest room works is when u get 41 of the items u want to filter (+ the filter blockers ) the power that comparator gets is strong enough to travel far enough and hit the repeater and the repeater deactivates the redstone torch which will unlock the hopper below so more item (the item u want to filter) can go into the chest
