The humans came... I remember it so well. They crashed into the sandy terrain, debris scattered everywhere: it destroyed our houses and killed one of our people. They set up an observation facility in the rocky red mountains, studying us, watching us, recording our behaviour. The crash landing blew away all the topsoil where our crops grew. We were left without food or water.
Soon, more and more martians began to suffer, starve and eventually, the inevitable happened. We were a nomadic race, moving around, shifting cultivation. But the humans came... They spread their foolish diseases, ones we had never encountered before.
We became ill. Unable to move; paralysed until we were nothing but mere statues. Eroding in the windy climate.
Do you know what they did? They just laughed, laughed at us through the glass window of their observation facility.
Then, one day, one of them 'accidentally' set fire to our only remaining crops, the giant vegetation which gave us so many minerals!
Apparently they were celebrating the fixing of their rocket...
The next day, they were gone.
They left my people dead of starvation, paralysis and debris collision.
I built graves for the dead. Buried each and every martian with care, tears trickling down my large, glassy eyes.
Now, I fear my time is up, I am slowly dying with each and every breath I take.
You must know what they did to our people!!
I am nearly gone,
Life is short and can also be ruined by others, just like the martians life was ruined by the humans....
Cough, Cough...
Goodbye Mars......
