Progress: https://imgur.com/a/7RkqZ

We started off by creating the terrain with some weird blue crystals in it. When that was done, we started working a bit on the city and we were trying out some alien-like architecture. After trying many things, we came up with this style. After that we made the center with the hologram and the small holograms on the pillars next to it.

For the temple, we combined aztec and mogol and gave it some green colors and for the roof we decided to use diamondblock.

I dont think you understand that, that is just a small helipad. It's not our world but another planet. About the missing chunks. Ive downloaded the world and everything was there. Ive checked your spots. And about the detail, we have chosen for not too much detail. Not every tower needs a lot of stairs or slabs. Sometimes some clean spots are nice too. But that's just my opinion. And yes ofcourse we could have give, for istance, that helipad more details but we didn't because we hadnt time this week anymore.

Ok let me just say this: I downloaded the map and ran it in 1.12.2. I have to take the diamond back. I'm sorry but It's a mess. Immediately after starting the map, all the ice formations started to melt probably due to the ice being used in a mix with sea lanterns. So it looks horrible and also it lags. There's a million jungle tree saplings and sunflowers dropped on the ground all over the place. All the buildings I've attempted to enter are fake with fake doors. Player spawns in a nonsensical location in survival mode. I have no idea how you could build this and not having the ice melted, by the way. I'm sorry, I'm just disappointed :/ Anyway, good luck in the contest.

Thanks for your feedback. I have changed some blocks to create less lag. So now there is no ice and the vines wont pop off and create lag.

I've also reset the spawn location and the standard gamemode is creative. :)

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, thanks for fixing it. Now I could at least move around without lagging ^^

From far away, my impression is "amazing". Though the closer I get, the more 'artificial' it looks. Strange combinations of materials where wool is mixing with glazed terracotta, concrete and cobblestone fences on one single wall basically, or mycelium mixed with gray wool with glazed terracotta sort of sprinkled over it etc. There are shapes that would take me weeks till I'd eventually give up, like the crazy glass rays around the statue near spawn. The roads made of full stone double slabs and staircases, in both cases one has to jump to move upwards. I get that interiors would be too much time consuming... This is just my subjective impression, ok, don't take it wrong, but it sort of lacks a touch of a human hand. The renders of course look stunning :o

I hope I don't sound mean to you, I don't want that.
Anyways, again, good luck ^^

Thank you, but these maps arent made for survival players or something. We were only focussing on the overal look and on the atmosphere. From close some block combinations can look strange, but if you fly up and look at it you will get some new sort of gradient look. And we used weird colors because this build is on a strange scifi planet. We wanted to give that atmosphere to it. If we talk about the blue glazed terracotta. They are meant to be blue cracks that were arised by the the blue crystals around the map. :)

Thanks for your opinion.

Thanks for the feedback and downloading our map, the ice starts melting because we used it to make the crystals and we built the map on a server where ice wouldn't melt, also the saplings are there because we used them as vines, you probably touched one of them wich makes them all pop. Also we didn't do interiors because we simply didn't have time for it anymore.. Anyway.. thanks for your feedback.

against such a project a single player does not arrive. (Yeah, I know it's a contest for several players anyway, it's hard for a single to beat a good build team)

Sometimes it's better to work alone, though. Especially if you have a vision that is hard to explain to your team... But yeah, in this case the builders seem to have been on the same wave length.
