What is Osgiliath?
Osgiliath is the former capital of Gondor, and is now largely in ruin. It is situated on the river Anduin and over the river runs a great bridge with in the middle of it the Dome of the Stars, where the Palantír was housed. The city was founded by Isildur and Anárion near the end of the Second Age, and ruling Gondor jointly, Osgiliath was their capital. The city then rapidly declined partly because of the Great Plague, and as it fell in ruin the capital was moved to Minas Tirith. It later also played an important part in the War of the Ring.

What is MCME?
It is a creative online collaboration project, aiming to recreate the world imagined by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is available and freely accessible for everyone. (No mods required) Through the use of Minecraft, we create a virtual world with Minecraft blocks. We create and design our own buildings, textures, landscape, sound and music, and more. We are only building the world, we are not a role-playing server, nor are we producing a videogame. We are simply making a huge world out of Minecraft Blocks, in a creative Minecraft environment.
