Andurils cathedral: inspired from Salisbury cathedral in England.
About:
At first this project started out to be the same shape as the Salisbury cathedral (See Link at bottom of page). But as originality was one of the demands, the pictures of Salisbury were thrown away, (though still maintaining the general idea of its design) and the building began. The creator went with it as he progressed, which means that no form of mathematics were applied nor was the design planned on paper. This resulted in a slow progress, but progress nonetheless.
From the creator:
o The toughest times while building this was to make it symmetrical and not make it look like the weight were shifting to one side. When the first half of the cathedral was built, I took a hard look at it and didno t like what I saw, so I started over. That incident describes the whole progress, due to me being a retard in mathematics i had to do it the hard way which is to build and optimize, build and optimize, to fix this and that. It was a hassle really. But overall I enjoyed the projecto
Build Information:
The cathedral consist of 2 wings of different sizes but same shape, An unusual looking tower, an entrance/exit, a study room, alchemy room, and an altar. The floor of the cathedral is quite unusual as well since it maintains the same pattern scheme, but in different sizes and somewhere another pattern is applied. Variety is not a bad thing.
Stats:
Length: 197
Width: 122
Height 64
Consist of 90.138 blocks whereas 22.370 of these are lapis blocks.
