Apogee Stadium

Home to the University of North Texas "Mean Green" Eagles football program. Built from 2009-2011 by the same design firm that created the new Cowboys Stadium or "AT&T Stadium", Apogee has many unique aspects that make it special, most importantly the North endzone seating which resembles that of eagles wings. Thanks to the wind-turbines as well as the amount of recycled material used to make Apogee, the stadium was deemed "LEED Platinum" for efforts in reducing it's carbon footprint, also making in the first stadium in the US to be that efficient.

Interesting Facts:
-Capacity or 30,500 persons
-750 club seats
-21 suites
-Banquet Hall
-Designed by HKS
-$78 million used for construction
-LEED Platinum certified
-3 wind-turbines provide atleast half the needed energy during peek hours

In August of 2014, I began work on the now complete stadium as seen above. It's taken a vEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEry long time to construct as I put in many details for users to enjoy and interact with. Below is a list of all the bigs things included in this map.

1:1 recreation of "Apogee Stadium"
-Custom football field
-seats around stadium
-fully equiped concession stands
-fully equiped restrooms
-a wing shaped north endzone
-all 7 floors of the press box are fully furnished
-custom built cars around stadium
-3 large windmills
-bonfire
-fireworks display on field
-east, north, and west ticket booths
-large LCD south endzone jumbotron
-small LCD screen by the wing section
-Athletic facilities building
-"Touchdown" rollercoaster inside Athletic complex

I'm sad to say this, but this will be my last big project. I really don't have time to make awesome stuff like this due to school and other comitments. I may post small things from time to time, but never anything like this due to the amount of time that would be pulled away from my already bussy schedule. I appologize for puting the adfly link in there, but what can I say? I'm a college student that spends most of his money on food and or school supplies...you'd be shocked at how much books cost when you have to pay for them yourself.

Thanks for the compliment!

But...this is not a small project, this was without a doubt the biggest project I've completed just slighty bigger than when pigs fly. There was a lot of preping, studying, planning, and building that made this into this stadium, one of the more detailed minecraft stadiums on the web.

No, I'm not talking about this project... this one was massive, I can tell. I'm talking about the ones you'll be doing in the future. :P

This is amazing...
Wow, the time you spent on it definitely shows!  It's got just the right amount of detail; you can tell what things are supposed to be, and they look awesome, but they aren't covered in fancy blocks or painfully decorated.  The 'Touchdown' rollercoaster, though not as big as your other ones, was amazing as a sort of bonus, or side dish, to the main serving of the stadium.  I was so caught up in the announcements that I just stared at the computer for five seconds before realizing I was the rookie sent in. :P

If anything could have induced me to open up Minecraft again after a while off, it was definitely the newest project by hobo joe! ;D

You always give the best comments as well as brighten my day up. Thanks to comments like yours I am able to keep making cool stuff as well as push on with everyday things. I don't think I can say thank you enough because you're one of the few people I've met on this site that isnt just another random person, but a great person with a nak for making people smile :)
Your copyright icon is REALLY annoying. Apart from that it's fine.

Yeah I know it's anoying, but the idea is that it will discourage those who take my work without permission...which has already happened 4 times in the last day and a half.

Thanks, really glad you liked it!
Decrease the size? IDK. Keep it on there if that's what's going on.

Nice. The simple style works well in this situation. Sometimes overcomplicating builds takes away from the charm.

Dang, that's one of the more meaningful comments I've gotten this year from someone. I usually get the "looks awesome dude" 99% of the time. Not that I don't like those, they're fun to get, but thanks for saying something like that :)
