Asterix and Obelix, from the awesome French comic books. As a child, Obelix was dropped into a cauldron of super strength potion, and was made extremely strong. Asterix drinks the potion as well, to be strong also. Together, (with their dog, Idéfix, or Dogmatix in the English version) they protect Gaul (old France) from all foes, especially the Roman Empire.
