I do not appear to be able to run this. I get spawned in a random location all right, but it stops generating chunks after a while, and I do not get the book that is supposed to start a village. What's going wrong? I have the resourcepack enabled and have followed all other instructions I could find.


Yet I have no way to start the game.

Nevermind, all minecraft needed was more RAM. it was a fresh download so it only had 128 mb, I gave it 2 GB and now it worked.




However, it is now extremely laggy, and it's not because of my specs, since I have an i7-6700, 24 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060. Perhaps I should reduce the RAM back to 1024?

Ok, final little update, installing optifine fixed it. I recommend you change your description of "recommended mods" to "required mods", because without Optifine this map was not playable for me.

I can easily run a server and play using an i7 960 3.2 GHz 12 RAM Radeon HD6800 with default java settings. Optifine allows for extreme shaders, 64X64 texture pack, and 4X post Antialiasing restricted to a steady 60 fps.

However, generating the first chunks on any world post Minecraft 1.7 takes me a very long time without Optifine. - Not affiliated

Hm, that may have been it, it was 100% a chunk thing, and optifine allows lazy chunk loading & dynamic chunk loading

Well, so far I've definitely enjoyed it. Been having some trouble with the balancing (losing all my non-shop villagers to UFO's because it took me more than 10 secs to shoot each one down), but apart from that i've enjoyed it.


I wonder, what will you be doing with Observer blocks etc? Those seem like a very powerful way to random-gen dungeons.

I'm glad you are enjoying the map. I have always been on the border about the UFO's, they only remain due to request.





It will stay for Minecraft 1.8 and I just finished adding a new large quest for the next release.

The game is balanced for 2 or more players and can be difficult in singleplayer. The only difference now is that SP requires 4 less kills to level than MP.

Is SP too hard? Should we add an extra life or some other suggestion for a singleplayer game?

Single player runs
Game 1, 2 I lost at level 3.
Game 3 I lost at level 7.
Game 4 still going with 3 lives at level 3 with 63 village competition and killer gear.

Seems pretty dang random so far.

let me know if you find any balance issues. Other than balance I can not see any way to improve on this map so it's on to the next map "Pipeline".

Oh, sorry for the late reply, I didn't see that you had replied because it was in a different comment. Well it's not exactly small, it's basically gonna be three different types of dungeons and I'm working on the custom mobs, but they are being glitchy and not being quite right, but they sortof work as well as I can get them at this point, I just need to work on two or so more mobs and that should be fine for now.

You will like the new version. It's been completely rebuilt about ten times as I learn more complex and efficient ways to randomize and every bug has been squashed.

Nice, but once I got to lvl 12 I couldn't find any Wither towers.. Any help?

Edit: Found the towers and beat the map. Took me a couple of hours, but I really, really, enjoyed it!
