This tower was made from mostly wood, stairs and ladders. Lighting was added to increase the mood.

The story is that when the world was young ,a king called Babel became erogant and tryed to build a tower to heaven to show the power of man,God then punished the workers by twisting there tongues so they could not comunicate.Work on the tower was over and it fell to ruins.

The lesson of the story is not to be erogant or prideful or there will be consiquence.

I agree, it is from the Bible. Though, Genisis 11 states the origin of the name coming from the confusion of the languages, not from any kings.

I agree with the meaning. I'm sure there could be others as well.

This is a sweet build man. I have diamonded and subscribed! Having said that, I'm a history buff and have some questions about......well your inspiration? I have heard various, biblical, anecdotal and vaguely historical versions of the Tower of Babel, how would you describe yours? Biblical, anecdotally or as close as can come to "historical"? Again, I love the build and am just trying to figure out what the build is based on! Whatever it's based on, it's cool, and I diamonded and subscribed because of it! I'm gonna take a look at your other stuff and probably throw a few more diamonds out!

nice work!

My desire to make the build was actually to make an "example" build to show how to gain a rank on a server I normally build on. I figured my example build would need to be somewhat smaller than my normal city builds but have enough detail to show what was desired in a higher ranked builder.

I chose a tower to build. I can't remeber whether I was trying for the Tower of Babel or if I saw it after I built it. It would probably be closest to metaphorical to the tower. Historically, I doubt water would be coming out of the top of the build. Since the top of the tower almost has an unfinished look to it, it could be saying how the tower was never completed (a biblical referance).

If I had built this to a more historical build, I'd probably have changed the overall angle of the build and its base. This coming unfortunately from my engineering background. ^_^ Thanks for subsribing and the kind words.

In addition to my long comment already ^_^, I've often wondered about whether Babel may have looked something like the Native American stepped temples. Their shape was also seen in Egypt. It could be coincidence, but it might not be.
