This mineshaft was manually built/mined in single player (no mods), over the course of many months. It reaches from the bedrock to the upper limit. I collected quite a bit of cobblestone.

Would have been so much easier to use World edit / 1.8 Creative inventory. Which you could well have used. And this took you many months?

Yes many months of playing once or twice a week. I knew about World Edit. Making this through manually, through hard work, was the objective here.
