Hello everybody.
Please enjoy this binary to 7-segment converter.
More specifically, it takes the values 0000b - 1001b and displays them as 0-9.
I know there are many excellent converters online already, however I found them all to be too bulky, slow, or difficult to copy.
So I’ve made this as compact, fast, and easy to reproduce as possible.
The final design is 10x4x6 - something I’m very proud of.
It displays any digit under a second (I’ve left instructions if you want to get this under 0.6 seconds).
Most importantly I’ve broken the process down and left step-by-step instructions if you want to understand how each part works.
A note on the technical aspect:
I’ve put a lot of hours into perfecting this design. I really hope you enjoy it and maybe learn a bit about logic gates along the way!

A note on the technical aspect:
The original logic gate diagram was produced using Logic Friday v1.1.4.
Some people might see this as cheating though honestly I’ve a full-time job and I was doing this in my spare time.
I've changed and optimised this original diagram quite a lot to get to the current version.
I'm also uploading the original screenshot for anyone who wants to try optimise it further - I'm not an engineer & I've no doubt that there are cleverer people than me out there!P.S. I've chosen to use the European display of seven (7) since it simplified the F12 segment; I've no intention of changing it.I’ve put a lot of hours into perfecting this design. I really hope you enjoy it and maybe learn a bit about logic gates along the way!
