THE TIME IS NOW

Broville v11 is now fully released.

Thank you to everyone who has been with us for so many years.

HAVE FUN EXPLORING BROVILLE!!!

It felt good putting that progress percentage to 100!

  • Fully fleshed interiors from small homes to mega corporations, small easter eggs to unassuming (on the surface) mega complexes
  • A "lived in" world full of unique tools/weapons, custom named items, detailed books and personality
  • Interesting
and unique districts provide many "city within a city" vibes, from old
v10 style housing, Amsterdam style canals, Beverly Hills style villas,
    and even a trailer park.
  • Fully automated subway/rail system around the city. More than 12 stations bring you to the many different city districts
  • Truly majestic and totally custom terrain created with Voxel Sniper. Explore
towering mountain ranges, wind swept plains, deep forests, dense
    jungles, and arid deserts.
  • .. and much more!

Update #5 : 11/30/2016 1:51:28 pm11/30/16

The time has finally arrived!

On
November 30th, 2016, Broville v11 will be available for download! No,
not a demo, not a small section, the entire finished map.

In the
past four and a half years over sixty people have contributed to what I
consider the Definitive Minecraft City. I'm very excited to finally be
able to share with you all the vision I've had in my imagination all
this time.

Thank you all for your support over the years and get ready to explore!

Update #4 : 11/10/2016 2:40:26 pm11/10/16

Hello, again!

Well
underway into 2016, as you may have guessed, we are still in progress
of finishing Broville v11. Yes we are finishing it, yes it will be
released, no it's not vaporware and no we haven't given up.

I'm
quite excited about where we are at with the map, I would dare to say
even close to being finished. To tide you over, we have four demos
available through the download link.

I want to thank you all for
keeping up with us over the years, and can't wait to share our creation
with you. Please feel free to leave any questions and comments below.
I've said it before, but the entire project has been a true labour of
love, and I believe that is reflected in what we have created.

Long Live Broville!!!

November update : 11/06/2015 2:50:10 am11/06/15

Added a new message and added all new screenshots/renders.

Thanks everyone!

Original Message:

As we
near 2016, at over three years since the start of this project, work
still continues on Broville v11. We truly appreciate everyone who has
stuck with us and thank you to all our new followers. This is a complete
labour of love.

As
we come into the final stretch of the map, we are working on creating
several hidden "end game" complexes, finishing interiors (always),
detailing of roads/infrastructure and landscaping, and occasionally
updating/renovating old (2+ years) buildings.

In the meantime we have plans for more demo maps and open server days. Stay tuned and long build Broville!

Halloween 2014 Update : 01/06/2015 12:09:36 am1/06/15

OCTOBER 31ST 2014 HALLOWEEN DOUBLE DEMO

twist. Each area is completely detailed with custom items, weapons,
armour, redstone/command block contraptions and more. Players will have
to use their wit, reflexes and brains (inb4 zombie) to infiltrate, and
ultimately escape these long forgotten places in the Broville world.

Old Update News Pre October 31st, 2014 : 10/31/2014 7:46:36 pm10/31/14

December 26th, 2013: Thank you everyone for your continued support and interest in our not so little building project!

Download the totally cool and exclusive Broville v11 demo and see why it’s taking us so long to finish the map! Since we are taking our sweet time to deliver the ultimate Minecraft city experience, we figured we would show some Christmas spirit and release a nice big chunk of the city to tide everyone over.

You might notice we’ve spent an ungodly amount of time preparing, building, furnishing and detailing this map. If you haven’t noticed, you might want to look harder. Each room is detailed personally and uniquely so you never see exactly the same thing twice. Besides the meticulously detailed environments, we’ve created a bunch of custom tools/weapons with enchantments and flavor text, loads of custom named blocks/items, and custom skinned player-heads to really give life to the city.

We truly feel we are creating the Minecraft city, not just your every day medieval village or lifeless skyscraper map. The whole Broville team truly hopes that our meager offering is enough to satisfy everyone until the full map is ready to be released. Everything is created with care and with focused intention, and we think you will notice this during your travels through the city streets.

Is there any other maps of this map / city / country thing besides what was provided in the download?
Also, great job! This was worth the wait.

Wait, why aren't there any "drivable" roads for cars to drive on? Also, there are a lack of diagonal structures inside this city.

Because we found both of those things abhorrent!

Now this map submission will TRIGGER you, cause of the high usage of diagonals:

Golly, it is hand made!?

Yup!
Question: How do I get back to the spawn point apart from killing myself? For instance, I teleported to the Ancient Civilisation, but there is no way back. What shall I do?

We didn't add a good way to get back there unfortunately.

It's in the north-eastern part of the ocean.
The only way is killing yourself. ALTHOUGH you CAN set the gamerule to keepinventory true. That's what I sometimes do.

Vaguely familiar...

Vertoak anyone?
There are easter eggs pointing to the existence of each other on both maps. "Solar Corp." is one of many.

question. any spooky graveyards or horror-themed areas?
  • Oldshoes
  • Level 74
  • Legendary Architect
  • May 22, 2017, 3:31 pm
Yes! Many of them are hidden, but the most obvious one is in the swamp. Giant gaveyard. Also the big ruined castle to the far north of the swamp.

There's a small halloween themed Victorian house on the northern edge of the mountains, near the farmlands. This is also by the train station that goes to Alpine Village.
last question. any way (besides killing myself) to quickly return to fractile island?

I'm afraid that's something we overlooked. It's in the northeast ocean.

Would the Solar Part be a horror map? I'd just like to know before I get myself into something. LOL
When I first entered the corporation I fell in love with it. I'm going to make an alternate version of the map with a fully operational SOLAR corp, as well as removing anything offensive from the map. I was wondering if I could have your permission to submit the map. Thank you!

I doubt you're alone in that.

If you have access to commands, try replacing block 43:8 with TNT throughout the entire BroCorp building. It makes a pretty awesome crater.
Why the buildings have the same style? It looks like it was made by 1 person.

That was one of our main goals: complete consistency.

Sure they're all the same style, but the variety within that style that some of the guys were able to create is amazing.
If I include your name and download link in the description, do I have permission to use this map in a Series on YouTube? Also, what version of Minecraft does v11 work be on?

Yup that'd be fine!

It works best in 1.10, but command blocks will stop functioning in higher versions (thought the map will still load fine).
Yep, Solar inc. looks completely innocent to me. Nothing fishy here.

Nothing at all! Fully up front organization.
This is a great map. I've been playing on Greenfield for a long time, and it is an amazing city, but this one gives a different experience. Very nice city. I understand that you aren't making a new map, but if you could start a new one I'm sure a lot of fans would support you.
Glad to hear it, keep up the great work.

As a transportation engineer, i fuckin love this. Ive been with broville since v10 ;). Kind of a nuisance brocorp is still there, in my RP world of v10 broville brocorp was taken down and a communist revolution left the old town destroyed.

Hey man! I'm finally creating a roleplay based off SOLAR Corp. I love the background the amount of detail you guys put into it! Of course I'm giving you all credit! Anything you'd love for me to add to better represent SOLAR Corp. and who they were in the past? The commercial at the end of your Broville trailer gave me a nostalgic feeling and inspired me so much! I'd love to recreate a SOLAR Corp. commercial and It would be awesome if you guys helped out!

Sounds cool!

You could add more comically inept and unthoughtful products for the masses to buy. SOLAR loves making stuff that ultimately won't sell (if at all).
does Broville v11 has a lore or a connection with Broville v10? i really want to understand the lore but im too lazy to explore in survival mode

The jist of it is v11 takes place in a separate timeline than v10.

v10 existed in the v11 timeline, however, we changed it so SOLAR ran the old HIVE under the FGM building, and they created a latency generator which created a massive catastrophic event. This event buried the old v10 landscape (you can find part of v10 under BroCORP downtown in v11) and created the drastically different landscape.
oh , thank you , someday i'll try to explore and read all books with my friends in the map , Broville is my favorite Minecraft map :D
