Building my server spawn!

Hello people of Planet Minecraft! I'm here today, because I'm interested in starting a new spawn for my server, Steamscape. Now, to start; I plan on making it a ground spawn. I want it to be grotesque and elegant.

I don't feel as if it should be too large, but large enough to hold a spawn with rules and a staff list, along with an admin shop and a couple assorted events. I want it to be medieval and "nethery". (I <3 Netherbrick).

Mind you, this project is my first, and it's going to be less of a guide for you, and more of a guide for me. But I hope you can learn some as well. (And if anyone would like to actually help with the spawn, contact me, and I'll PM/Email you the info of the server and website. I am going to have at least a couple people helping me.)

Blocks
- Stonebrick
- Netherbrick and Obsidian (Trim)
- IronBars (rather than glass/panes)
- Lava everywhere

I like the contrast that netherbrick/stairs/fence gives stonebrick/stairs/fence, while also giving it the "nether" feel.. I also would like to add iron bars for more of a medieval look.

The lava makes it look like you're in a world between the Nether and Minecraftia.



Design!
The build is going to have a lot of detail and definition, it has to be one of a kind! So, I think it'll have other accessories to it, as far as windows and battlements. Hopefully we can put a lot of curves in it. It is also going to be player friendly, so people can just sort of walk out and know what they're doing.

The project hasn't started yet, so... just wait. I would like some opinions and some advice first. Please standby.
