Here is a [QUICKMAP]. It's a short project I do in under 24 hours, so the map is of lesser quality than normal. Why play? Because I'll add experimental features here, and you guys can comment on them! Also, if a [QUICKMAP] is popular enough, I will make it a full map! Also, if you PM my Discord, you can suggest [QUICKMAPS]!

Anyway, it's 12k by 12k.
Experimental feature is Minecraft's population of biomes+ orthographic transitions (windward vs leeward side of Mountains).

Hope you enjoy!

I get spawned in a completely different map when I load this save. It loads properly in MC Edit but loads a completely different map in-game. How do you load this map properly?

Hey, did you play this in version 1.14+? Sadly due to a change in minecraft's code you must open the map in 1.13 first and load all areas you wish to explore. After this you can update to the most recent version.

Alright... HOW did you import the terrain. I've been wanting to import terrain from central america, but I have to go through a long annoying process of going to some website, which I don't recall, which happens to have grayscale height maps, importing a TIFF, converting it into a PNG, and importing that into worldbuilder where it comes out as an awkward map with random areas of flat squares.
Any tips on how you made this?

Honestly, sometimes it's just easiest to look up "[Area] heightmap."
