I originally started to build this in a server that sadly had to shut down recently, it was a very sad day. On the server, I was never able to finish my castle, and so decided to make it in a single player world. It's not a perfect copy of the original castle, but it's as close to the original as I could get it.
The reason I started to build this castle in the first place was a very 'simple' build challenge so I could join the Building Union (TBU). The head of the TBU, Sythera, gave me the challenge to do this: "Build a medium sized castle on top of a hill or mountain. It must include a throne room, inner courtyard, and two towers. You can only use cobblestone, stone, stonebricks, wood, wooden planks, and anything that can be created from those blocks (fences, stairs, slabs, etc.)" Things like glass and decoration blocks were okay to use for decoration and such.
This is the finished result, though the hill wasn't that big and got mostly covered up by the stone bricks.
Castle Phoenix was named after the owner of the server. A guy many people will miss, and someone I want to thank for the server in the first place, even though it's gone now.
