In 1859, John Willensburg- a wealthy citizen of maryland- had a path of ease to success without slave assistance. In 1861 John became a well known abolitionist. To ensure safety of slaves, he used his wealth to buy a large portion of land in Mississippi. As more slaves and citizens came, the land grew. In 1920 Willensburg city is a fully functional landmark. Although out of harms way, the city still has a bright future ahead of it.
