The world save is fully explained with the video on this page. The working designs are the ones in the back. The sizes and everything are non-specific so that you can fit them into your world however you wish.

Possibly, but I don't think it matters. They all leave the maturing chamber eventually, 95% within at least a minute. It's worth a try though.
