Information about the map
With this map I tried to recreate the cliffs of Dover, which are massive limestone cliffs on the southern coast of England.
The rivers haven't been filled with water because they are on an angle and worldpainter can't fill that properly. The only way to fill them is by doing it by hand or using the ]//replacenear air water] command on a lot of points along the river.
Download info
When you download this, make sure you use the latest snapshot (14w11a and up)!
The custom terrain is 2000 by 2000 blocks, making sure that you will always see custom terrain. Be prepared to be flying around for a long time (flying in vanilla is extremely slow)!
The terrain does not have any ores, caves or natural lakes, so it is not usable as a survival world.
How I made it
The terrain, including the cliffs, rivers, hills and erosion was made using WorldMachine. I imported the height map that I got from WorldMachine into WorldPainter, so I could populate the terrain with trees, water and the iconic cliffs.
Suggestions
I much, much appreciate any comments or suggestions that you could give.
What should I do next? (I do both mapmaking and building stuff) What could I improve on this map?
Credit
You can use this map in any project you like (such as a Youtube video, building project etc) as long as you provide a link to this page.
I encourage you to share this as much as possible!
