Cloud World by Themziss
Lore and background
This is the world of Evrelmor, a city located in the sky. Founded around a mysterious angel, the city is swept in riddles around its original purpose. Some say the people of Evrelmor themselves built the great statue, while some argue that the statue is far older than the city itself. Believed by outsiders to be founded on the myth about the Cloud Tower, the city is believed to be the entry point to a world even further above the clouds.
The Cloud Tower
Thousands of years ago, a lost civilization of immense power and grandure challenged itself when its leaders decided to reach high above the stars. The plan was to build a tower so tall it would reach the stars, claiming the leaders' place among gods and stars. The immense project drained the empire's resources, resulting in a devestating war with one side supporting the completion of the tower (at any cost) with another side claiming its cause righteous because the Tower had obviously angered the gods.
Since the fall of the 'Tower Empire', as some had called it, there had been a saying: 'Don't build a second tower'. The saying was rooted in the lost empire's tireless effort to complete the gigantic monument which only resulted in its downfall.
The leader of Evrelmor had also heard the saying, but took no interest in it. His intention had never been to build a tower, but a staircase - a staircase where each step was carefully considered before taken.
'They would tell me I was mad, but I rejected it all. They talked of that I built another Tower. I FOUND a Tower already built in the skies! My great city is merely a settlement, an entry point to something much greater.'
Jove Haspant, Father-President of Evrelmor
