Today I saw a Site Moderator on the pop reel for his impressively compact 3x3 BUD Switch. But I'd made a 2x2 BUD Switch months earlier. Seeing how popular it got, I thought I'd upload my own, more compact design. So here it is!

OK, I get it now :L It's a BUD but it's not a BUD switch. I didn't realise there was a difference.

It's OK if you don't understand how to use it, once I get my beast PC for Christmas I'll be making a video demo for it and add it to this page, then you'll see that it's a BUD switch.

Yes, it is. Don't be jealous :p It detects block updates underneath the block with redstone on it.

I'm far from jealous, I'm just skeptical. I just tried it, its not a BUD switch because it isn't resettable and cannot being toggled. It is however a BUD.
The concept is however still there, diagonal redstone powering is very useful.

It is resettable, that's what the button is for. If that wasn't there it would be a 1x2 BUD. When you say toggle-able, what do you mean?

I tried resetting it in both states with the button but it didn't work. Toggle-able as in which state the piston is in based on the various updates made to it.

Oh right, it only resets when the piston is facing upwards.
