CONSTELLATION: CATEGORY-BASED ITEM SORTER
The successor to Anunnaki: 33% faster, higher capacity, just as compact, and unload-proof!

Functional size: 11x10x11 (whole schematic is 11x12x11)
Format: .NBT for structure blocks, WorldEdit, etc.
Platform: Java only due to hopper mechanics and quasi-connectivity (Bedrock ports welcome!)

Sort the space-efficient way with Constellation, a category-based matching system. Any item matching one in the criteria set will be lumped into a common destination, which could be for anything, like wool, gems, mob loot, building blocks, or any custom-defined group you want. It works with criteria sets as big as 64 and as small as 1. Hook them up end to end and sit back (or forceload the chunk) as your items get matched!

How is it 33% faster?
In a race against Anunnaki to sort four wrong items against a 50-item criteria set, it beat it by over a minute and a half, at 3:21 versus 4:59. It reaches these speeds by allowing the next item in line to enter testing once the first criteria item gets reloaded, rather than waiting for the whole set to reload. The clock speed during testing is also now faster by three ticks, at one test per 1 second instead of per 1.3 seconds. Keep in mind that pre-sorting common blocks like cobblestone and dirt using traditional item sorters massively improves the efficiency of this machine.

How is it unload-proof?
It uses a comparator-based signal decay clock, which has its self-sustainability and pulse length built into its structure, rather than a repeater clock, which must be given an external pulse and keep it alive to function. Some game versions or servers will not load this pulse back in when the world is loaded again.

this is beautiful. i've been playing with it in my test world!

im too burnt out on magic sorting machines to hook this up in my survival world and make it work, though :')
maybe one day ill be able to make something idiot-proof
