SURVIVE THE CUBE


Note: This is the first part of the CUBE series, if you want to stay tuned about the next ones, SUSCRAIB. P.S.: The next episodes will have a storyline, following the end of this one (it's hard to notice, but there's a little revelation about the next episode).


CUBE offers the player a fiercely competitive environment . The player will have to struggle to survive in the trap of a macabre murderer. Based on the film by Vincenzo Natali (Cube 1997), this environment will ensure that each block and each decision you make has incredible consequences.


The plot:

  • You wake up in a room with a chest
  • You don't remember your name
  • The last thing you remember is... that it was dark when someone nocked you down

The rules:
  • Don't do a bridge to the spawn once the game has begun
  • Don't change your gamemode
  • Don't use minimaps

Information
  • The map is made by 605 (almost) identical rooms (11x5x11).
  • There are limited resources
  • There are traps
  • The gamemode is hardcore
  • If you die, you'll have to re-install the map (copy it again to the saves folder)

SPOILER ALERT:Is the end when you reach the top and see the sign that says: "You shouldn't be here"? I couldn't seem to get inside the room that was underneath it.

No, to get inside the room you must complete a puzzle. It's a hard challenge and it can take days, like in the movie. The thing is that there are some diamonds, if you find them you can craft a diamond pickaxe and enter the room through the cube underneath it. You need the pickaxe to mine obsidian.

So I just realized Obsidian is breakable without diamond pickaxes. Well it takes 4m and 10s and you have to break like 20 obsidians, so it would take you like... more than a hour?

It takes 4 minutes if you don't use a diamond pickaxe. anyway, this was an experiment. I'm developing the big version of the map, with 16x16 cubes, more traps and storyline, but it's hard to do a storyline with all that variables.
