I've made a TV that comes with a power on/off button and a display. The on and off stages do something. By default, how i built it, it displays lines (and a little thing on the down left corner).  The display is powered by redstone, redstone torches, a T-flop (beacuse levers suuuuck), 1 piston and 1 redstone block. And lots and lots and lots of repeaters.
It is very small the circuit, and complicated. However, usable TV's in Minecraft that just display only 4 images require much more than that. It is easy to manage. 

It was made in Minecraft version 1.8.9, at date 28 December 2015 A.D.

The display is 15x7, or in total it has 105 pixels.

Added ON/OFF message using 2 command blocks, and 2 signs on top of the TV right above the display. And a easter egg.

Note: To customize it, you have to edit the redstone which can be really complicated, and can extend the circuit very far, sometimes when you make it interactive it can be as big as BlueStone.
