Skyblock has been combined with economy for ages but what if you were selling instead of buying? Combining elements from traditional Skyblock, Hermitcraft, and plain ole vanilla minecraft, I created DayTrader.DayTrader is an original skyblock inspired map that I created last year. It has since then undergone 4 different revisions, and we recently opened it up to the public.
Here's how it works: If you know multiplayer skyblock, you are familiar with growing crops and selling whatever items you want WHENEVER you want. You also gain island balance by placing diamond blocks. On DayTrader, things aren't so simple. Each island has an attached store. In this store, is Joe. Joe has deep pockets and has money to burn. Every half hour, Joe will want to buy some random block for one of his ridiculous projects. If you have the item on hand, sell as much of it as you can before the 30 minutes is up. The next 30 minutes, he will ask for something else. Players start with 1 of each crop, and are expected to build out their island to accommodate all the crops. Here's the thing, he doesn't always ask for crops. He may ask for doors, wooden swords, green dye, glass panes, WHATEVER HE NEEDS FOR HIS STUPID PROJECT. You get money by selling items to him.
It's such a simple game, but yet so grindy because players are stuck with stone tools until they travel to the nether. There are lava buckets and many other items you can purchase from your store to enhance your island and build up your farms.This is truly a unique experience, as the idea of supply and demand come into play, and it keeps the player on their toes because you never know what your next trade will be, hopefully you can meet his demand
