The type VII Unterseeboots for the DKM (german navy) are the largest class of submarines ever constructed.
The subtype VIIc was the largest of them, with 568 out of the total 703 type VII U-boots being VIIc's
Despite many surviving the war by being captured or evading sinking, only one type VII remains, the type VIIc-41 U-995 at Laboe Naval Memorial near Kiel, Germany.
