Eden Dam

A simple little dam I am creating for fun, and because I have never made a large structure before. It will be constructed as I see fit, and I will probably work on it daily. As it is simple, the construction should be finished in a day or two. Adding details, making working mechanisms, and fixing the surrounding terrain will occupy the rest of my time. When finished, I will offer a world save.
Day 1;
Terraformed surrounding area in MCedit, and began basic construction of the dam shape. Currently just a large wall.

Day 1.5;
So I got bored, and did a ton more work. However, we lost power, and therefore my progress was obliterated. So, I just MCedited in the rest of the structure. It now functions, and my current work is going towards the cosmetics of the dam. I also plan to add an auxilary vent system, so there will be even more water.
Day 2;
Finished decoration of the exterior. Still going to add an interior and auxiliary openings(?). Planning to add a village above and below the dam later in the project.
