Efficient Plots
Efficient Plots is a little project of mine to bring about plots that are easier to build in and manage for Survival servers while still maintaining some of the time consuming task of all that digging.

What is the point of this?

Well, I have noticed in the building of my own Minecraft server that there are a few things players may complain about. In my first server, it got very tedious digging out all of the stone and dirt from beneath your house. Most of the time those resources were not even used in the end and just filled up your storage space if you decided to keep it. Not to mention all of those worn out or broken pickaxes.

With this, I decided it would be better to have a large majority of the plot dirt. This allows for less resources used while digging in most cases as you would only need a shovel versus a pickaxe. If you decided to use an enchanted pickaxe for example, you could fly through digging that dirt without a problem.

What else?
In the screenshots you may also have noticed the thick layer of sand with some cobble and air below it. Why is this? Well, I am sure most people know about the ability to destroy columns of sand with a single torch right? Well, the same concept applies here. Instead of digging down into your plot layer by layer of dirt, all you have to do is dig to the little air layer I have placed.

Once you place your torches underneath the cobblestone layer, feel free to break the blocks above you and let all that sand fall! A Quick and easy way to clear out your plot allowing you to build those first few underground floors faster. Plus, its free sand and glass right? No more piles of that useless dirt! However, the last half of the plots are all dirt, and you actually have to work a little bit to dig down! It cant always be easy!

Compatibility?
These schematics are compatible with both MCEdit AND WorldEdit. If you are wanting to place them ingame, simply load up the schematic and past from the South-West corner of your plot border (One block at a 45 degree angle from the corner).

Additional features for plugin based plots like Towny
I am sure many of you know and recognize the name Towny. With Towny, many servers often have multiple shapes and sizes of plots available usually buying on a chunk based bit of land. If the server is hooked into an economy, this usually means that a player will buy one of the chunks in the whole plot first. This can lead to some confusion and players fighting over plots if another player buys another chunk of the whole group.

This is overcome by placing priority on one chunk in the grouping. This chunk is specified by a changed material on the top layer (In our case from grass to gravel), and by signs on the corner of plots specifying which chunk to buy first. If a player has bought the gravel plot first, they essentially have control of the rest of the plots. If someone else comes in and buys one, they will get kicked off and have to find a new plot.
