Maximum total length is 20 m. Currently, the largest reliable record of an individual is a female of about 18.8 m in length, stranded in the Arabian Sea in 2001. Earlier reports of 21 m were made in the Seychelles Islands and in Maharashtra, India, but these figures are not based on precise measurements. Body weight is 20 tons.
The whale shark that has appeared in the Minecraft world this time is estimated to be over 400 meters long. It is unknown how long it has survived.
Body shape is spindle-shaped. Body width is greatest at the head, usually around 1.5 m. It has a flattened head with small eyes on either side of its frontal surface. The mouth is large, up to 1.5 m across, with 300-350 rows of fine teeth. 5 pairs of gill slits are located above and anterior to the pectoral fin protrusions.
Body coloration is grayish-white on the abdomen and dark grayish-blue on all other parts of the body. The head, pectoral and caudal fins are covered with pale yellow spots, and the body has a distinctive pattern of pale yellow spots arranged in a white lattice, which in Western Europe is compared to the pattern on a chessboard. This pattern is unique to each individual, and is very useful for identification. The dermal tissue is thick, reaching a maximum thickness of approximately 10 cm.
The caudal fin of adults is usually in the shape of a mid-crescent, but in young individuals the lower part is inconspicuous and only the upper part is large.
It is widely distributed in tropical, subtropical, and temperate surface waters around the world. They are slow-moving sharks that are generally not dangerous to humans.
Their food is plankton in large quantities, which befits their huge body size.
They are mild-mannered and pose little danger to humans even when approached.
They move slowly and are unable to stop, swimming at an average speed of 4 km/h and a maximum of 13 km/h. They swim about 5,000 km a year. They swim about 5,000 km per year.
