Recommended Resource Pack: Conquest

A longship for the Viking on a budget, this is the little sister of my last fantasy longship design (which can be found here). I was a little afraid that the build would lose something in the scaling down process and, while I would agree that it does appear considerably less impressive than its elder sister, I believe that it has turned out rather better than I expected.
The building process was much the same as in my last longship, from which I have lifted most of the themes and designs. I have tried a new type of canopy, which I think did rather well. Rather than being anchored to mast and hull, it is instead slung from the main halyard, which allowed me to build an occupiable tent in a much smaller volume. This would not have been achievable in the larger design, where the halyard is cleated much closer to the mast.
As before, this is a fantasy design, in which aesthetics come before historical accuracy.
