Fantasy World Project (World presently not named)

[Information]

This is something I am doing on my own, a pure solo build with no assistance from others and I am using the creative mode to construct. I will also document what I have done on youtube and I will post links on here should anyone be keen enough to check what updates to the world have been made. Traditionally I spend a couple of hours a night on this. The only exception is over the weekend where life commitments take me away from this little gem I am enjoying.

Just to inform people in the mannerism that I am approaching this fantasy build I have some bullet points listed and I am happy an answer any additional questions should there be any.

  • I have not used any editor to alter the map nor used any tools to help 're-shape' the world. My goal was to create a new map and where ever the game stuck me, then that is where I would start. In this case I landed in some nice grassy areas with rivers, no mountains though :(
  • I will expand outwards, so I want to make my first city, then push onwards. Of course, because this is a 'fantasy world' I will be building cities and dwellings for all manner of races, intentions being that of dwarves, elf's, goblins and undead.

  • My designs will not all be cities, I wish to make dungeons and lairs and include secrets within the game and items that might reveal some personality behind the inhabitants.

[Creation Ideas I wish to implement]

River City (dubbed Great Lily Ponds) - WIP
Shadow Forests
Up-Town and Down-Town (more to come)
Forlorn Fortress
Teldrassil

(more to come)

2 Update Logs

Update #2 : by Tsumoro 08/26/2012 8:32:34 pmAug 26th, 2012

[Update #2]

Okay so quite a lot has happened since my last update. Mainly to do with my constant whims taking demand of my creative direction and wanting to expand my realm for the up and coming River City "Lily Ponds",

I have constructed the beginning of my River City Harbor and a lot more work needs to be invested, but the foundation is in for starters and I am happy with that. I have also built a few more 'treat' bits for me.

My main focus now will be the market tier levels (as demonstrated in the video). Presently I have two rows of houses which have a balcony section mid level which will build into the houses to form the second tier of buildings.

I constructed a massive tower from one of the houses, and I shall make another one further along on the other bank of houses in addition. I will then interlink these towers and build houses/buildings into their sides. The goal here is to make this as 'crammed' as possible, as if, people were running out of room with expansion and desired to build upwards.

Once this has all be done, I shall beautify the area and add a lot of flora and fauna to make it look appeasing. I also want to add some water features too, to make it look unique.

Mostly, on my part, its a matter of trial and error and I spend a lot of time just walking through it all so my perspective on foot is not disillusioned when flying about on creative mode.

Thank you for keeping up to date
