I was looking for a large project that lent itself to the limitations of Minecraft and thought of this temple. It took several days to build mostly because Minecraft doesn't naturally provide environmental features of the perfect size and shape to move right in. I ended up wiping out a huge area of desert on my server's existing map and starting from a flat patch of sand. I built the temple first, and then created the mountain around it, yes ALL of the mountain. Once that miserable task was complete I had to cut into the mountain to add several small chapels and rooms that the Egyptians had dug into the original site. Naturally this is a protected region on my server but it is open for viewing. To get there once you have joined the server type in chat: /warp Hapshepsut.

Hapshepsut's temple is my latest build. Still working on details but every room I could find on line for the main complex is built into this model. Sadly there is no way to furnish the temple with statues and so on but I did a little with what I had. It is is a big complex and as a nod to the ancient Egyptian's fasination with the after life I incorporated a mystical atmosphere ending with a nether portal into one of the chambers. I have also incorporated a nearby village and a small desert temple near the village into the build by connecting a roadway just for fun and to provide a "purpose" for the complex.
