Method in building organics with lines and spheres!. :)

I started out by building a small model then I cloned it in MCEdit to scale it to around 250 blocks high with the clone option.

Once I have that it will be really blocky and messy but in there is the shape and proportions I original done, because it is faster and easier to build it small then scale it, and it is more accurate.

So, I replace it with lines running through the center of the build, and use spheres where all the joints would be, trying to use a size that would be in the final build, but it really does not matter!.

When I have that I just attack it with the Voxel Sniper lift tool to block out the basic form then I use the fill brush to help with my curves and lines, ball brush it with Voxel Sniper, but that is not the final smooth. the final smoothing is done by hand as well as small parts like hands, feet and other small features that Voxel Sniper can't handle, but that is not in this video part.

I really hope this will help you's that are trying to learn organics, or just to get better at it, or find new ways to approach it. I have many methods to do organics and this is one of my favorites.

I'm willing to do very detailed videos at higher quality with full audio explanations on everything I am doing, If I get the views and I have people to make these tutorials for!.

She is still a bit rough as it is just a demonstration, download the schematic and finish it yourself if you would like.

Maybe it's time for me to finally learn voxel sniper.. lol This kind of stuff is quite impressive, it looks fun and not too difficult if you have the basic idea of shape and proportions. I should really get into this method of yours and if it suits me I might actually get back to building. :P Great build and video! If you ever do a long in-depth commentary tutorial in which you would talk about the process of building, thinking about proportions, pose and shapes or even how to use the voxel sniper properly, that'd be amazing. :P

This is something I definitely would like to do, it seems like there is many people interested and would like to see videos like that too, I have looked and there is pretty much 0 information on building organics. I know how hard it is to learn this, and I have spent an enormous amount of time learning it, with no one to help me. (it seems like anyone who is decent at it is not willing to share their techniques) I believe I have narrowed organic building down now, and there is only a few things that make it difficult. I will prepare the videos, and try to find ways to make them as informative and easy to follow as I can.

That sounds great! Despite that I have atm break from MC/PC but I am looking towards it, it was always fascinating for me seeing well done organics :)

You almost make it look easy! I was wondering if voxelsniper can be used in singleplayer too as some sort of mod, instead of a plugin on a server. Is that a thing?

You can run your own bukkit server and join it through local host. you are able to have voxel and world edit, also you can have what ever brush sizes you want as well, and its more efficient if you are using mcedit as well. this is what i do.
