Good morning, Pigott3 here. Today I have made fetch in vanilla Minecraft! Just throw the snowball and your wolf woll run chasing after it! the whole thing only uses six command blocks, and it works well! To bring the puppy back, just shoot a snowball right in front of you. 
How it works - Click to reveal!
When you throw the snowball, the command blocks summon invisible armor stands right above it. When the armor stand is right above grass, a scoreboard objective called "ground" goes up every tick. If ground is one, the wolf teleports over to the armor stand. If ground is two, the armor stand is killed. the teleportation is what makes the wolf look like it is running.
