USS Concord FFG-62: FFG(X) Program (Concept)

USS Concord is the first of two designs competing in the FFG(X) Program for the United States Navy. Nearly undetectable by radar, blisteringly fast and armed to the teeth, USS Concord is the FFG(X) Program offering by Lockheed Martin, with the other being produced by General Dynamics. Stealth technology and design can bring its radar signature down to that of a small pleasure craft and vectorizable, supercaptivating propellers enable greater speed and enable vastly superior maneuverability with less power and emissions than previous designs. Additionally, it is armed with a single twin 6"/50 Mk17 (155mm) dual-purpose gun turret capable of sustaining 30 rounds per minute per barrel for up to five minutes, as well as two Mk11 forty cell vertical launch systems for the newly developed SM-3 dual purpose SAM/SSM missile, two 30mm Bushmaster II autocannons, two triple 21in Mk33 torpedo tubes firing the Mk49 Supercaptivating Torpedo, a Phalanx CIWS and two .50 caliber machine guns. It will compete with USS Lexington FFG-63 in the FFG(X) Program.
