I tried adding details on the deck but I didn't like the look of many of them, what do you suggest?

I suggest to use stone brick stairs to soften the edges of the submarine as well as to line some areas with stone slabs so the whole sub has one base colour. Also tru using other materials to help with detail, you could somehow incorporate iron into the sub.
