This is probably the first build i have ever done on a large enough scale that I could attempt to use a roof gradient in this way. In the past I've used some gradients but only to represent shadows or time weathering from wind or rain and blocks getting lighter as they move up a structure. The process of building this roof was quite misleading since as i was building it I was only a small distance from the build and couldn't grasp the blocks blending together and assumed that the build was ruined by this really bad roof using these harsh color changes, but once I took a step back realized that the roof did work and that the gradient was subtle enough to not be too jarring to look at. I have noticed that if I try to make things look too good immediately I get stuck and loose inspiration. Adhering to a process and allowing myself to tunnel vision a little bit usually results in a more creative and impressive build. Overall I'm extremely proud of this one.
