Hey dude try not using the smooth tool you get better results i have a couple maps on my page that could help also got a map im working on atm if you want to see it i also have made up nice textures for cliffs / mountains and other terrains just pm me if you want a hand

Your heights are way too smooth, look at a real-life mountain picture to see how its sides are rocky and rough :p You can also check out other ppl's maps on PlanetMC
It's hard to tell considering they're far on your screenshot, but your lake and its islands look nice tho
