This build event is all about animal rescue. Members went out to, very creatively, find animals that needed rescuing and bring them back to the zoo! One such animal is the Flying Katfish. Do you have a cat? Imagine it being able to fly and swim!

The flying katfish were made of wool, concrete, end rods, and signs. The enclosure food was made of concrete, wool. and sea pickles. Sea lanterns were used for additional lighting. All of the katfish have a coat variation of tabby cats. Also, like their lungfish genus, these katfish are part of six other species that have both gills and lung.

This challenge was fun in trying to find animals to rescue, imagine how their lives would be lived, and creating supporting environments. Beside creating a welcoming environment so the rescued animals could thrive, we also needed to provide signs to entice the public to relate to the rescued creatures. A lectern displays a book to read and understand the creatures living safely inside their new homes.
