Rammekens sea fortress. Located in Ritthem, The Netherlands.
Considered to be the oldest still existing Sea-fortress of western Europe dating from 1547.

Build to protect the trade routes to Middelburg, Rotterdam and Antwerp.
Designed by the Italian Enginer: Donato de Boni de Pellezuoli.
From 1585 til 1616 given to Queen Elizabeth I in trade for 5.000 soldiers.
Changed a lot by Napoleon who added casemates and demolished the other buildings.

I have build the situation around 1790.

Buildings consist of:
Kitchen and barracks.
Church (protestant)
Hospital (used by the VOC)
Miliatiry Engineering Storage and Officers Quarters.
Main building with a main hall, baracks and Officers Quarters.
Powder House
Armory
Stuff is stored during peace in the bastions.
