I am facinated by world war II... this brought me by the city Adolf Hitler planned in berlin... It would have been the new center of the world.

Germania

This has never been realised...

But perhaps it will be some day..... in Minecraft

I can't do this project on a 1:1 scale, this because some of the buildings are way to big to fit in with the height limit.
Altough i will be able to build about every building (except for 1) since the height limit has been increased to 258 :D This means a lot for me, and it gives me a big boost to build some really big stuff!!
this also means that i have to add an extra floor or 2 to the already existing buildings to make it more realistic.

As soon as the server i play on gets updated i will have to start to make stuff heigher, so it will be more realistic to what it would have been. (some buildings will remain extremely big compared to others, but that was the whole idea of it)

Note: it will not be a 100% copie. But i will do my very best to make it come as close as possible. I will be trying to get around 90% accuracy, unfortunately i already made a few big mistakes. And now i am trying to fix these problems as good as possible. I deleted some buildings, and changed one. I started on a very big building the Sudbahnhof.

I do not build this project 100% legit, i realised that it would not only take to long, and i would lose intrest in building on it. So i decided to use world edit to remove mountains and to make the floors and roofs. The building its self i build mostly by hand, and some walls are made by world edit. I use flying to aid myself in the construction.

There is no interior, just floors and rooms. Although some rooms, hallways and large halls may have decorations.

For anyone that wants to help i have to disappoint you. this is a 1 man project.

Please let me know your opinions!

Important buildings that have to be build:

Volkshalle
Führerpalast
Reichstag
Brandenburger tor
Neue neue reichskanzlei
Neue reichskanzlei
Ober kommando wehrmacht
Ober kommando luftwaffe
Ober kommando kriegsmarine
Soldatenhalle
Reichsmarschallamt
Triumphbogen
Flughaven tempelhof
Sudbahnhof

Every important building will get its own project.

The architectural style i use is best described at wikipedia

and server has been down again for about 2 weeks..
im working on a little practice build on zeuscraft
at this practice build i try things out for the future of this project.

in the time spent on this project 1 building is almost done with changing the height. ( i added 1 or 2 extra floors) and the skyscreaper is now actually a real skyscreaper.

The project has been shut down for an unkown time.
I am planning to restart it, and do it right this time.
This means that i will redo the entire thing i already have, since i have slightly more and better information regarding the dimensions and city plans.
When i am going to do this, i don't know. I will update the project once i start with it again.

no disrespect for your project. but in my opinion you don't. you are missing 2 entire wings... the Führerpalast as the name says was Hitler's palace. it would have its own cinema and library. it would have been his 'house'. his office would have been located on a side wing of the building. at the end of a 500 meter corridor to impress foreign diplomats. this side wing would have been called the neue reichskanzlei (after the previous neue reichskanzlei) the building would have been attaced to his palace. making it 1 building.

  • shj1991

  • February 8, 2012, 1:16 pm
i am a 100% sure its only 10%, if you take a look at the map and compare it to the overview i just placed, you can see i have only build the first buildings on the bottom of the map. i still have to build the list. and those buildings are the most impressive and important...

flughaven tempelhof for example is huge.... its 900 meters wide...
the volkshalle is 315x315 meters... and it is heigher that the height limit allows...
the triumphal arch is around 100x50x100 meters...
etc etc

we are talking about something really really big.... the city center as shown on the models would have been around 5km long and at least 1 km wide...

I remember this project from a while back, it is looking...uber nice. har har. quick question though, is it true that that dome would have been so large that the condensation created in it would have caused it to rain?
  • shj1991
  • Level 41
  • Master Architect
  • February 5, 2012, 2:31 am
thanks :D

the dome would have a diameter of 250 meters and a height of 290 meters, when filled with people (must have been around 50.000 or so i believe) i think it could have been enough to let it start rain..
  • IKN0WKUNGFU

  • Grandmaster Architect
  • February 5, 2012, 2:35 am
Good heavens that would have been amazing to see. but it as amazing as it would have been it would have been equally hard to build. even if the weight of that building could have been held by the soil. I imagine to make a 250 by 290 meter diameter dome would be a challenge even today.

Epic build. I heard something about this project, true is that even architects were afraid that buildings like these on plans cannot exists cause they were to massive xD
  • shj1991

mostly they were afraid some of the buildings couldn't be build because of the huge weight, thats why they build the schwerbelastungskörper to test the ground.
