Grid mining gone artistic

This is a basic mineshaft I completed for a public mine project in a private server I frequent. It is legit (no edit tools, spawning items or other), mined and sculpted by myself over a period of three days. More than 22k blocks altered in all. Its supposed to be a mineshaft that both looks pretty and allows to design an efficient grid mine system using each compass direction as the start of a triangle shaped mining grid. Lava is used for illumination at nighttime.

At the time the screen-shots were taken, the main shaft was finished and the first level (@ lvl 3 on the height axis) installed. In total there will be 10 levels, one every 6 meters. Still a WIP, hope to update soon...^^

Additional Notes

I use a modified by myself doku RPG texture pack for viewing ingame. The server has some hey0 mods installed too, no online resources though (spawning items or economy/trading mods).
