Halosere

It's been a bit of a while since I released a project on here so, here's a little build!


The concept of Halosere is based off of its name- in ecology 'Halosere' means succession in a saline (salt water) environment and so the build is designed around 4 different 'eras' or successions and how they interact with one another underwater.

  • Ancient - the ruins and Byzantine architecture inspired palace, which would have once resided on dry land and how it has withstood the elements.

  • Nature - the flora and coral which sprung up and overtook the ruins when the terrain was flooded, from storms and melting ice caps.

  • Industrialism - represented by the sunken cargo ship and underwater scrap yard and its links to destruction of the surrounding terrain.

  • Futurism - the final era of succession, shown by the submarine station, hydroelectric generators and man made establishments under the waves.

This is amazing! I've taken a poke at your server and intend on spending a bit more time there... Looking for ideas and building concepts for our own little group server. I'm still fairly new at Minecraft and haven't really built anything unique yet.. just borrowing on existing concepts and remodeling to our tastes.

Really looking forward to learn more!

Just saw it in-game finally, incredible build Vanessa. Absolutely wonderful execution -- a lovely combination of organics, structure, and terrain. So many different aspects coming together -- the grayscale of the terrain contrasting with the vivid industrial colouring, the flawless structural melding of seashells and sandstone. Loved it!
