Harewood House

Harewood House is a Georgian era Palladian stately home situated near Leeds, UK. It is home to the Lascelles family, the Earls of Harewood, whose involvement in the West Indies slave and sugar trade gave them the capital needed to build Harewood House.

The house was built in the 18th century by John Carr and Robert Adam and the gardens laid out and executed by Capability Brown. Charles Barry made substantial alterations to the house in the 1840s to increase the accommodation and replanted the gardens to meet Victorian tastes.

This Minecraft rendition of the house was built in a 4/3:1 scale. I've done my best to remain faithful to what the house looks like now, though I've made a few alterations where I thought was appropriate. The IRL house sits with the entrance/garden front facing the north/south, I've re-oriented it to the east/west so these fronts could catch more of the morning/evening light. I've also restored the garden front portico and brought the lake closer to the house so it can be enjoyed at a more reasonable view distance. Most of the outbuildings and interior rooms that are open to the public today have been completed in this map.

I built this on 1.16.5 using the WBC Builds texture pack, trees are part of Lentesbriesje’s tree repository. I was commissioned to make this by a close friend so I will not be making it available for download.
