Nested on a mountain just by a peaceful bay, the town of Hautvent is the most prosperous city of the kingdom of Aurora.
Through centuries of trading with its neighbours, the city has seen the establishment of a burgher class that lives on the hills of the city, protected by a natural crest as well as the newly built "Wall of the treasurers", if there was a single ounce of doubt as to who rules the town.. These wealthy traders are slowly tranforming into a new nobility estate, which hires mercenaries instead of fighting themselves.
The working class lives at sea level, in smaller houses tightly crowded, leaving few room for alleys in between. There, one can find small merchants, farmers trying to sell their crops, popular art such as theater or a bard, or patrons looking for a brave adventurer..
These people mostly work on the outskirts of the city, with a lumberjack camp, fields, a fishermen hamlet, and a small vineyard, owned by the new nobility, which finds luxurious goods to be a necessity.
The core of the city is the harbour, with its large trading navy, bringing money and power to their owners, perched on the hills.
However, the king has recently moved its court to this peaceful place, with the double goal of getting money for new conquests, as well as strengthening his control over this town which could go rogue and declare an ill advised independence...
