This is my new 1 to 1 scale exterior only replica of the HMAS Hobart. I know, I know, I've built this ship before so why am I doing it again? I was bored and needed something to build in MC and my old Hobart wasn't fantastic so I might as well build it again. And so I did. I've made a few scale related improvements like making some aspects of the hull larger. I also wanted to add more detail to the ship in general. Recently I went to see the ship up close and I took a lot of photos, which made me realise how much vital stuff I missed on the original model. Anyway, that's enough of the boring stuff so here's some info about the ship.

The Hobart class of destroyers are currently being assembled in Osborne, Adelaide, Australia. All three ships have been named Hobart(39), Brisbane(41) and Sydney(42). Hobart is sceduled to be deployed later this month and will travel on its maiden voyage to Sydney. All three ships are almost identical to each other and are based on the Álvaro de Bazán class of Spanish frigates. Similarly to the Álvaro de Bazán class, Hobart and her sisters will be equiped with the Aegis combat system which is developed by Lockheed Martin. The major differences that separate Hobart from the Alvaros is that Hobart is more up to date and is fitted with equipment that holds up to Australian requirements. There are also some minor structural differences that separate them.

Hobart and her sisters are all 147.2 metres long and have a beam of 18.6 metres. She can comfortably house 234 people including navy personnel and airforce personnel.
