HMS Bristol is a unique ship, originally conceived to be the lead ship of a class of escorts for the Royal Navy aircraft carrier CVA-01 however when this project was cancelled by the 1966 defence white paper, Bristol became a one of a kind ship. Bristol would take part in the Falklands war, and then became a training ship docked in Portsmouth. When it was announced she would finally be decommissioned in 2020, attempts were made to save the ship as a museum. However as of 2024, Bristol is awaiting towing to a scrapyard.
