The HMS Raisonnable was one of Jack Aubrey's two commands in "The Mauritius Command," the other being the HMS Boadicea. The Raisonnable was an old ship, according to Jack, she was built fifty years before the story takes place, and if she fired a full broadside, she might fall apart. Taking this into account, I decided that the ship would be unlikely to have carried any great press of sail, and as a result, I decided to have her under topsails, driver, and jibs only.
