How can i save my dog?

My dog got stuck in a chest. The chest is in a treehouse so when i got up there my dog teleported to me.
Is the only way to him out of there by destroying the chest or someone knowes any better way???

no other way man just if you will destroy the chest...but you can take your things back

i did it and my dog was free, but when i started to collect and put my stuff to other chest, he mysteriously disappeared. Maybe he fell down from the tree and died, but i dont know, because i cant find him anymore. (dont call me man, because im a girl, thanks)

Right-click his ears and then go away or maybe he'll run out of it

if he is not sitting you can have him teleport to another location
